18 April 2011

Hi Folks,

Easter is fast approaching and the Bunnies are out in the fields, a great time of the year to be heading down to "Mannix Point Campsite" in Caherciveen on the Ring of Kerry. Caherciveen is a great town with some great restaurants and genuine old world pubs, the "Point Restaurant" or "Mike Murts Pub" are my favourites. As good as the town is, it can't compare with waking up in the morning to the view looking out onto Valencia Island you can travel the world and you'll find it hard to beat this, see photo attached. You can travel over to Valencia by taking a short ferry crossing from the point you can also travel across by road but it takes slightly longer. The cycle group will have three outings over the weekend on Friday we will be going to Glenbeigh, Saturday to Caherdaniel and Sunday into Killorglin, it's important that all cyclists wear a high viz vest. If you have a camera this is the weekend to bring it with you because weather permitting the scenery will be spectacular. I don't need to remind you that we have had some great music sessions in Mannix Point, with all the practice that went on over the last couple of months I know this weekend will be the same.

I look forward to seeing you all at the Easter Egg hunt.

Regards,

Stephen

Important Notice:-

I'm sorry about the late notice but the Rally to Trabolgan has been changed from May 6th to April 1st. This is not an April fools' joke! Trabolgan contacted the club and made us aware that the weekend we were due to go was totally booked for a darts tournament. They would be using both bars for the competitions and their supporters and it would not be a weekend suitable for children. Again, my apologies for this change to the rally program but the situation was completely outside our control.

We have been invited to attend a rally in Waterford to celebrate the arrival of the "Tall Ships" race and the camp site is open from Wed, 29th June from 16:00. This promises to be a great rally and is being organised by Liam & Kay Williams and Neil Cantwell. If you're interested in attending you should contact Kay Williams as places are limited. A fully refundable €10 deposit is required.

The 2011 rally list has been updated to reflect these changes on the Get-Together page.
